NIELIT has been approved as one of the assessing and certification bodies for the IT literacy programs as per Letter from DGE&T-19(19)/2010-CD dated 15.10.2010 received from M/o Labour and Employment, Government of India. The BCC course is launched to meet the demand for IT literacy programs and certification for ITIs and ITCs.

How to apply for Institute registration?

Register with NIELIT by submitting the details online at http://www.nielit.in/jsp/ccc_app_form.htm and send the hardcopy (print out can be taken from the portal) of the same along with the copy of the DGE&T affiliation details to NIELIT New Delhi.

How to apply for BCC examination?

Both direct candidates and accredited institute’s candidates should apply on line at http://student.nielit.in and send the hardcopy (print out can be taken from the portal) of the same along with the following documents and any other documents given in the online registration site to NIELIT Calicut in the contact address given above.

  1. Covering letter on institution’s letter head (applicable only to institutes) Mobile number & Email is compulsory for receiving Exam date alert
  2. Duly filled Appendix I and Annexure I (applicable only to institutes)
  3. Attested copy of candidate’s highest qualifying examination certificate (not applicable for NIELIT accredited institutes)

Exam Dates: The BCC exams are normally conducted on 1st Saturday to next Friday (7 days) of every month. The Cutoff Date for online registration, payment and for receiving the exam application forms etc. are notified in the online registration website from time to time.

Fee: Rs 200 + Service tax (presently 12.36%) = Rs 225/- per candidate.

BCC Examination: The BCC exam is an all India on-line exam of 60 minutes duration conducted by NIELIT, New Delhi, consisting of MCQ / true or false type of questions. The candidates would be required to attend any 50 questions only out of 100 questions. There is no negative marking. Minimum pass mark is 50 percentage.

Exam Centre: Depending on the facilities available and the number of candidates available for the examination a suitable exam centre will be allotted.

The exam centre needs minimum 100 students, Minimum 15 PCs (Pentium 4 or above with Windows XP, 512MB RAM) with broad band internet connectivity. There should be UPS power back up for at least 1 hour. Preferably with generator back up. Around 6 batches of BCC exams can be conducted at one centre in a day

Institutes willing to extend their facilities for conducting BCC/CCC exam can register by sending the Exam Centre Registration Form to NIELIT Calicut by post or by email (scanned and signed copy) to bccec@calicut.nielit.in.

An exam superintendent and suitable support staff would be allotted by NIELIT Calicut. The exam centre and the exam support staff would be eligible for honorariums as per BCC norms

Certificates: The certificates of successful candidates will be sent directly to the institute or candidates depending on the accreditation status by NIELIT Calicut..
The Institutes shall forward the Certificate to each of the Candidates and send the acknowledgement of the same to NIELIT Calicut in the format given at APPENDIX II.
