Introduction
National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), NIT Campus P.O, Calicut is coordinating the implementation of MSJE (Ministry of Social Justices and Empowerment, Govt. of India) funded project to impart training in computer skills to around 200 candidates in the state of Kerala with an objective to improve the employability of the rural youth belonging to SC/ OBC categories.

Benefits
These training programs are aimed at providing additional skills required for employability in IT industry. It will also equip the students with the necessary soft skills for job interviews and their future career.

Dates, Duration, Timing and Venue
The courses commencing on 27th February 2012 will be of 120 hours duration. Venue: NIELIT Calicut.

Eligibility
Candidates belonging to SC and economically backward OBC categories of Kerala State with any Degree / Diploma (Undergoing) / 12th / Vocational / PGDCA / ITI equivalent / DOEACC O or A level.

Examination and Certification
On completion of the course the candidates have to appear for an examination and successful candidates will be issued certificate by NIELIT, Calicut.

Fee
The course is fully sponsored by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The selected candidates need not pay any fees for attending the training. Selection of candidates will be based on selection criteria formed by Selection Committee consisting of representatives from NIELIT Calicut along with District Social welfare Officer appointed by the District Magistrate / Deputy Commissioner concerned, as per the project guidelines.(11020/04/2011 – SCD – I, Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment).

Admission Fee: `250/- to be paid by the candidate.

Stipend A monthly stipend of `1500/- will be paid to outstation candidates and `750/- for local candidates as per the rules.
